Columbia Taping Tools has been hard at work the last few years to refine and improve our tools to become the sound “Commercial Grade” tool you can depend on. We have asked a few well known commercially driven companies to share their thoughts about our tools. We want to thank all others who submitted their comments however we couldn’t fit everyone in this short news letter!
•“For a little more than a year KHS&S has been running Columbia Brand Taping tools on our sites with really good success. It was immediately noticed by our tapers the quality of Columbia’s products. They like the smooth cutting system on the taper and the corner flushers are better than the tools we rented. Our guys really like the quick clean flat boxes for cleanup and our down time is almost non existent except for minor maintenance issues! I would recommend Columbia Taping Tools to any company doing production work!”
D Marquis - KHS&S, Las Vegas, NV
•"Since using the Columbia tools our down time is almost non existent, and using the larger boxes combined with less down time has greatly helped in the production numbers we are seeing."
Rod Schrador - Superior Wall Systems Inc. Anaheim, Ca
•“After the first year of use, we here at KHSS contractors are glad to say that your Taping tools are working great.
I am the Warehouse manager, and I have gotten positive feedback from my field foremen on the performance of your tools. We are very happy with the outstanding service your Corporation has provided us and are pleased to say that we have saved a substantial amount by purchasing our tools from Columbia Taping Tools, Inc. rather than renting from any other Taping Tools establishment.”

Warehouse Manager.

It’s been a while since our last news letter release. We have a number of updates to let you all know about and these are listed below:
• All Flat Boxes:
• With the great success of our Quick Clean Hinged Door Fat Boy Box design we have since April 1, 2007 been manufacturing all Flat Finishing Boxes with the same Quick Clean Hinged Door design!
• May 1st, 2007: Columbia Taper Creaser Wheel Latch was improved from a diecasted latch to a stronger, more stable billet machined latch with O-rings and an improved comfort design.
• July 1st, 2007: Columbia introduced the newly designed 180 Grip Box Handle replacing the Flat Finishing Box Handle. This design allows a full braking capability over a full 180 degrees angle span. This unique braking feature grips the axle with a tremendous amount of pressure to eliminate the possibility of slippage when dealing with difficult angle situations. The results this produces are quicker, cleaner and more efficient application of joint compound.
• Parts Changes: October 1st, 2007 Columbia added more stainless steel to our taper to make it a more “Commercial Grade” tool. We now make the Crimping Arms Left (CT48) and Right (CT49) from slotted Stainless Steel for strength and durability while remaining lightweight. Also the Cable Drum (CT73) is perforated stainless steel to allow the same “Commercial Grade” quality, strength and reliability we have with the rest of our family of tools.
• January 3rd, 2008: New Box Rubber Door Gasket Compound on all Flat Boxes and Nail Spotters. This improvement allows the use of petroleum based products such as WD-40. Although we still suggest a less aggressive lubricant like the vegetable based cooking oil spray (PAM).
